Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers (49)

Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers (49)

We used to be skeptical about hypnotherapy...not any more. Our guest this week, David A. Blender is a clinical hypnotherapist that specializes in addressing issues that ex-offenders most commonly struggle with. Self-esteem, positive life change, and addiction have proven to be areas that David can successfully address through his therapeutic techniques. We have a great discussion about the effectiveness of hypnotherapy to address post incarceration issues on this week's episode.

Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers (48)

Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers (48)

Let's face it. There is nothing you or I can do to change the fact that we have been to prison. This is a fact of our history and there is nothing we can do to change that fact. My guest this week, Marc Lerner, calls that an "uncontrollable fact".

Marc Lerner has developed ways to excel in life despite these sorts of "uncontrollable facts". His interview with me is full of absolutely fantastic ideas along these lines.

Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers (47)

Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers (47)

Hey there and welcome to this week's edition of the show.

I'm not an expert or even trained in the slightest way about psychological issues, but I am entitled to my opinion and having said that - I have long felt that anti-anxiety medications are overused in the criminal justice systems. It seems to me like the powers that be would rather neutralize an individual with medication rather than help them deal with their behavior.

However, it is also very clear that some individuals do in fact need medication. There are men and women that go into prison with an actual diagnosis and are in need of help. These are the individuals this week's program is about.

My guest this week, Jeremiah Russell, has been through the system with this sort of need and has been courageous enough to write about his struggles. The information presented today is useful for men and women in Jeremiah's position and to the families and friends of loved ones in Jeremiah's position.

Jeremiah is indeed a great resource. Please check out his materials at http://www.jeremiahrussell.com/index.html

Remember, if God is for you, who can be against you?
